The Vale and Downland Museum, Wantage.
The Vale and Downland Museum is really close to the car park next to The Beacon, opposite St Mary's church, on Church St.

This museum is quite small but really interactive. There's dressing up, an old fashioned tram that you can sit in and a model railway. My kids had a great time here, my daughter dressing up for hours and my son pressing all the buttons for the giant interactive map mounted on the wall of the amphitheater, which also has a documentary about the geology and archeology of the Vale, narrated by Sir David Attenborough - or at least someone who sounds exactly like him. My son was not at all keen on the taxidermy but he did like the trains.
There is also a small second hand book shop which we emptied of Lemony Snicket books.
